Well I just bought a Powershot SD300 and after installing and formatting the SD card, it doesn't work. I will take shots, but they won't be stored in the camera and I can't view them, it's just a blank screen with "No Image." Did I miss a step or is there anything wrong with my card/camera??

Thanks =)

If you can, take us through the exact steps you take from the moment you turn the camera on. This'll be hard to debug without details.

Sure, sorry for the lack of clarity. Once I turn on the camera, everything seems to function properly: I can see out the lens cover through the LCD screen. When I take a picture, the flash goes off, (and makes the shutter sound), but the picture does not freeze and there is no indication at all that the picture was saved; I can still through the lens with the LCD. Then when I go into playback mode to look at the pictures I took, the screen is blank(black) with "no image" written on the screen. I can go back to still picture mode and it's as it was before, I can take pictures but they are not saved.

I tried formating the SD card* many times, even though it says in the user guide I shouldn't have to. Hope this clears things up...

I was going to suggest formatting card inside the camera, then making sure the lock on the card is off. Other than that, try a different card as it may be defective (hopefully the camera isn't).

Just to update, my digital camera and card work perfectly after switching memory cards. So I guess the first one was defective. Thanks for your help.
