What is the best choice for an advanced point and shoot camera??? I am torn between the Sony DSC-V3 and the Sony DSC-W7. Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated.

You are comparing two completely different cameras. If power is your need, the V3 is the way to go.

If you take many serious indoor photos using flash the V3 would be your best bet as it has external flash capabilities. In my opinion almost all indoor photos taken with built in flash (compared to an external flash) are bad and some are worse.
