Hehe! Just Got My DSC-W5

This is My first DG-CAM , I Test out a couple of dg-cam already , Sony,Canon and 1 Minolta "My friend DG-CAM"

My good Point about the Cam

-Well Build all around , clean and sharp Looking Cam
-Feel Solid and confortable to hold
-Huge 2.5 Inch LCD
-Very Fast Performance , From Open it up , to taking Photo
-Superbe Photo Quality and Sharp "Even in Complete Darkness"
-The "Flashing" flash for photo , I didn't experience any Red eye yet... Sweet!
-Pack with Feature and good Manual Mode "Any Scene could be taken"
-AF-assist lamp work as a Charm!
-Battery Life Last forever and there a Meter to tell U when Battery are Down
-A Great Expansion Accesories, Lens, water case , Filter etc. it's So Sweet
-it's Price TAG is really Cheap for the Pack of Feature u Have "My Opinion"


My Dislike about this cam
-No LCD protector For a 2.5inch?? and Hard to see from certain Angle and in Sunny day
-The opening for the Battery feel really cheap
-A little Heavy for some

I didn't Experience Movie mode under 640 by 30fps yet so i couldn't comment

Ill have some Photo this week , for you Guys too Bright Up your SunShine hehe! Damn I love this W5 ! sorry to say this...

I surely recommend this Cam to anyone Searching for a great cam , with Pack of Feature , Superbe photo quality at a Great Price!

put in an order yesterday and should get my dcam tomorrow. the wife has been asking for the dcam with a newborn and all.

also, got the memory stick duo pro 512mb

been reading the forum. many people seems to recommend the canon A95 also.

Just bought a pack of clear screen overlays (screen protectors) for my DSC-W5 from Office Depot. $15 for 12. Had to cut them to fit. Not the greatest, but effective.

i'm using all the default settings. and it's pretty good.

my 512mb duo pro show that i can take about 199 pictures.

any suggestion on which setting to change or play with that can possibly improve the pictures?

U can use M or P Mode to to get the right Picture Quality

by Adjusting, the "Iso ,at 400 it's still good and the OEV" for Lighting"
the Saturation ,the contrast ,the Sharpness and the white Bal to get the right accurated color u want " and it work great without the flash too.

the best way to really test it , is to change menu and looking by your lcd and taking photo with each setting to find the right Image Color and the Perfect take

There some Other mod that let u get a Stronger Flash or less strong , that could help too.

in Dark Situation , Video mod is not really the best but when u switch it to black and white it help a lot , to see thing clearer or keep it in color and work with Software " 640x480 at 16fps is the best for me and the quality compare to the 30fps is not that wow different , but the Compression is so hard on 30fps
