Hello,
I'm a proud new owner of a Black Sony P150 camera. I chose it over the Canon S70 due to more expandability and price. One thing I've wanted to play around with is the shutter speed to get various effects. According to Jeff, I can do this in the Manual mode, and choose from values 30 seconds to 1/1000th of a second. I cannot find such a setting in Manual mode.

Program mode seems to be the real manual mode, since it has a lot more options for me to play around with. Is there a mix-up in the review? I see an option called EV (which I assume stands for exposure value). Is this what I should use to adjust shutter speed? The manual seems to suggest so, but I have tried all the values (from -2.0 to 2.0 EV) and cannot get the 30 second shutter speed.

Am I missing something obvious? Apologies if this question has been asked before, I tried searching.

Thanks in advance,
XLNC

P.S. Thank you Jeff Keller for this great site. It's a godsend.

put the camera in manual mode, then hit the silver circle in the middle of the 4 buttons, and the shutter and aperture will turn yellow. Use the up and down aarows to adjust accordingly. If you wish to adjust the limited apertures, then use the left aarow to move to it, then the up and down aarow to adjust.
when you are done, hit the middle button again, and the settings will be set and you can take pictures.

Wow, I don't remember seeing that anywhere in the manual. Thank you for the help, it worked beautifully.

So far, I'm finding that this camera has a lot of potential. Images are a bit noisy, which makes me uneasy, but I haven't taken proper day time shots yet. Wish me luck.

Thanks again,
