View Full Version : Tripod and Accessories for Dx6490

I just got a Kodak DX6490 and I am wondering what kind of accessories I can get for this. I also need to know what type of tripod I need to buy. How much will the tripod cost?
I have an old camera tripod but I lost 2 pieces of it. The thing that looks like a screwdriver and a small black piece. I assume I need to buy a new one.
Check out the accessories page for the DX6490 on Kodak's website (http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=1339&pq-locale=en_US). There is a link to a lightweight tripod setup for digital cameras on that page, but you can find tripods locally (I use one on my DX6490 that I bought for an old Nikon FG film camera). Beyond that, there are add-ons such as external flash/bracket setups not found on the Kodak site.
I did purchase the Kodak Performance Series Digital Camera Case (http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=1471&pq-locale=en_US) listed as compatible with the camera, but it's so small that you must take the padded lining out and orient the camera one specific way to insert it into the case and it's a pain to get out quickly. If you plan on carrying an extra lens, cables, or anything beyond extra memory cards, I would pass on this one. I ended up buying a larger, cheaper bag (Icon) from Wal-Mart.
I would advise you to get used to your camera for a while and read the forum posts on this and other sites to see how other DX6490 users are equipping their cameras and it will give you a better idea of what accessories you might need/want.
