The DSC-5 looks it will be my new camera because it should give both good still and video results. A few years ago I had a small Sony for a few days. I returned it because of what, to me, were several weaknesses. I take many pictures in auto mode. The shots must be taken fast and sometimes with flash. The camera would default to flash off every time it was powered off and then back on. It would not save the auto flash setting after a restart. Will the W5 and other new Sony cameras keep the auto flash setting.
I also remember that it was necessary to take 7 or 8 steps to erase the memory card.
Is it easy to find yourself in the wrong mode? My friends and I have all had the experience of finding the shooting mode changed when getting cameras out of a pocket or snug bag.

How obvious is it to know when videos are being taken? We have sometimes found ourselves shooting video when we thought we had stopped
