Hello,

I intend to buy a quality camera, but below 400 Euro, and I'm in doubt: konica vs Canon? Or neither, should I wait for a better one, as Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H1?

Thank you,

Cata

When you intend to buy a digital camera there are a lot of points to consider :
- image quality
- paper print size
- scope (family, general use, sport, landscapes, nightscaps, macros....so on)
- money (not quite at least)
If you're expecting to do professional photo works then must think about Digital SLR - that costs a lot of money.
When you compare that two cameras you have to keep in mind what I wrote above.
Shortly - diferences-:
Canon Pw S1 vs KM DZ5:
- 3 Megapixels sensor/5 Mpix (better Z5)
- 10x optical zoom/12xoptical zoom (better Z5)
- ISO 50, 100, 200, 400 /50, 100, 200, 320 (better canon)
- macro : 10 cm/1 cm (better Z5)
- min shutter : 15seconds/4 seconds (better cannon)
- max shutter : 1/2000seconds vs 1/1000seconds(better canon)
and the list may continue. I sugest you to take a closer look at reviews on dedicated sites (this one also has a review an Dimage Z5) and read user reviews that may help also in deciding about versatility of camera, technical problems, image quality and services support quality. And also download full original pictures made with that 2 cameras, study them, also reading EXIF info.
I know that I may be a little confused to you but I hope that I was providing you some useful hints that can help you to decide by yourself. And do not forget : the best camera is that one that you get.
