So which camera is best for me?

I'm looking for a digital camera. I am willing to spend up to about $700 more or less -- preferably less -- preferably a lot less. The zoom is of primary importance to me -- probably 10x or 12x with a stabilazation feature. Of course picture quality is what it's all about. Mostly I print 6x4 pictures. One of the principal reasons that I want to buy a new camera is that the one I have now, the Fujifilm 6900, has a terrible lag time. I would like a camera that can catch action or children's expressions -- one without a delay between pressing the shutter and taking the picture. I guess that's the lag time. I also want one as light as possible. That, obviously, will vary considerably, but lighter is better. I was thinking of the Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ-5. Any toughts?
