I filled out one of these myself, and per your advice, purchased the Canon A95. When my parents found out about this they said they were going to buy that camera too. I suggested not to because of all the manual options, that they would never use. I am filling out this sheet looking for a camera that is just a good quality point and shoot. So here goes...

Budget

* Around $200, but possibly more

Size

* small to medium

Features

How many megapixels will suffice for you? 4 or 5

* What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x) Standard

* How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10) very, 9-10

Do you care for manual controls? No, prefer not too many, if any.

General Usage

* What will you generally use the camera for? family photos, general use

* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not? not really

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos? probably most of the time indoors

Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos? no

Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate? no

Are there particular models you already have in mind? no

(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD) no

You might give some consideration to the Kodak DX-7440.

With the demise of the A75, Kodak is starting to look better... or how about the Nikon CP4100? Too point-n-shoot?
