how big is the chance that there will be a release of a new compact camera with full manual controls any time soon?
I need a new camera before august...I need a compact camera (canon a510 size is also oke)....but the most (new) digital cameras don't have full manual controls...
I wanted to buy the a510 but I'm not really sure anymore...
so what do you guys think....just wait a while longer?

Have you considered the Fuji E series? These are relatively new, and have A/S/M modes via mode selector dial....

yeah I've looked at those too, but they are too big, If i wanted that size I would go for the a95 i think......

(by the way: by saying full manual controls I mean Exposure compensation, focus, shutter speed, aperture and white balance...I dont know if there are more...)

The Olympus 765 (http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_product_lobbypage.asp?l=1&p=16&bc=2&product=959) is about the same size as the Canon a510.
