Hi guys, im new here

Recently bought me a kodak dx7440, and am nothing short of amazed by it. Im going on holiday in two weeks, and need a large memory card, 1gb to be precise - And was wondering,
Are all 1gb cards compatible with the dx7440?

Is there anything i should watch out for? like maybe, no 60x speed cards, or no Kingston branded cards...?

Thanks in advance :)

SolidShadow-

A 1 gig SD chip works fine in the Kodak DX-7440. I just tried it to be sure in my Kodak DX-7440.

Be wary of putting all of your holiday photos on one card, I have just killed a second Compact Flash card this year in my DLSR, so avoid the cheap unknown brands.
Fortunately the latest card cost me nothing and I managed to get most of the images off it first.

Enjoy your trip.

Those brands should be fine, just stay away from This (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=74696&item=7500696484&rd=1) type of cheap unbranded memory card.

Actually, PQI is one of the biggest flash card makers around. I have several of their CF cards and a 128SD card and they have worked well for years. Not the fastest around, but pretty reliable.

The only 2 flash card failures I've had are a Delkin 128MB SD card, and a Kingston 64MB CF card (both a couple of years ago). I use my CF and SD cards in all types of equipment, besides the D70 and CP990, including a PDA and a GPS unit. :)

Ok, but what about the speed of the card, are all the speed compatible with the DX7440. I just found the Kodak SD 1GB card at the kodak site that works for the DX7440, and the write speed is 32x according with the specifications found at TargetDirect.com, so I conclude that for example the Lexmar 32x 1GB shuld works too, but what about de SanDisk Ultra II 1GB SD card, does anybody know if works or not?

I have the 256mb version of the Ultra II and have had no problems with it in first my DX6490 and now 7440.

It may be a tad quicker clearing the buffer after a burst, but on the 6490 there wasn't much difference.
