These are the only two cameras that are available to me because I am getting them through a law-related website rewards program. I don't know the first thing about digital cameras so I don't know what to look for. I will just use the camera for regular guy stuff, like vacation and baby pictures.
Here are links to the cameras:
The Canon Powershot A400: http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/controller?act=ModelDetailAct&fcategoryid=145&modelid=10630
The Olympus D535: http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_product_lobbypage.asp?l=1&p=16&bc=1&product=1135
Budget - not an issue since they're both free.
Size - don't care.
Features - don't know which ones are good or even what they do.
Resolution - I would like to be able to set pictures as my desktop picture on a 19" monitor.
Zoom - I don't know how much is enough.
Prints - I can't imagine that I would ever need anything bigger than 5x7.
Storage - I would like to be able to upgrade to a card that can hold lots of pictures.
Connection to computer - do they all connect the same way? Are some better than others?
Bundled software - is there any? I don't need Photoshop or anything, but I hate Microsoft Picture Manager so anything would be an upgrade.
I hope you all can help me, and I really appreciate it. Thanks.
Andy
