replacement ??

we had a panasonic DMC-LC5 which was stolen! I was in the process of learning ,but my wife whom takes the kids quick shots did not like the camera.
she wants a piont & shoot,were i want to learn & take quality pictures. our budget is up to $1200 (aus) we do print some at home up to A4 but not often
should i buy a similar for myself & a cheap 2mg for the grap & snap??

It sounds like there is a potential for not one but two digital cameras in your family to satisfy your described needs. Perhaps, a Kodak or Fuji for your wife and the kids, then a digital camera for yourself that would be appropiate for really getting into your desire for higher qualith digital photos.

Unfortunately, there is not always a "one size fits all" available to us.
