Budget

* What budget have you allocated for buying this camera? Please be as specific as possible.
Between $200 and $300, possibly slightly over

Size

* What size camera are you looking for? Or does size not matter at all to you?
Small enough to fit in a pants pocket

Features

How many megapixels will suffice for you?
Minimum of 3, no more than 5 necessary

* What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x)
Standard is fine

* How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10)
8-9; I want the pictures to look good with no flaws noticable except very minor flaws and only on close examination

Do you care for manual controls?
I'd like some basic ones, but they're not absolutely necessary

General Usage

* What will you generally use the camera for?
General purpose pictures; both indoor and outdoor, still and with some motion, people and landscapes

* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not?
Unlikely to make any prints, and certainly not bigger than 3x5

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos?
Yes for indoor, not so much low light otherwise, but I would like them to be possible without being awful

Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos?
Possibly, but it's not my primary concern

Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate?
No

Are there particular models you already have in mind?
I've been looking at the S410, SD300, and DSC-W1, but am very open to any other suggestions

(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD)
No
