PKA Kickboxing Nationals...London...please critique

Didn't compete..but took pics. Very good competition, even though it lasted over 6 hours and I was really tired.

First time using my SB800, I got it the day before the competition. Never done indoor sports before...very difficult.

Changed the levels, resizing and a bit of cropping.

Any tips on using the SB800 and D70 in these situations in the future?

Perhaps using a faster lens?
What lens did you use? nikon has excellent wide angle fast lenses.

Used the 28-80 old kit lense. I think its a f3.5-6.3, not sure. I don't have any other lenses apart from the 60mm Micro and the 135-400mm which I only use for outdoor football and athletics.
