Hey,

I was just wondering how many pictures would 2300 mah powerexes take, and how many would 2500mah sanyos take? I can't decide whether I need buy 4 or 8 batteries.

Always have 2 sets (or 3) with as much capacity as you can get. One set in the camera and one set in the charger. Also get a set of Lithium (non-rechargables) for the times when you forget to charge the NiMH's. ;)

When I had an A85 I used Rayovac 15minute charger with 4AA I-C3 and it worked great and able to take tons of pictures. The best thing is it only takes 15 min to charge. Was only 2000mahs but was not a problem.

From what Canon.com has to say, the A85 can take 500 pictures (LCD on) and 1200 pictures (LCD off) with 4 NiMH batteries. Not sure what brand and how much power they pack though
