Sorry for the new thread, but searching through the other remote thread (that has become a build your own discussion) is difficult at best.
Bottom line... Has anyone here ordered the Panasonic factory cabled remote? What are your experiences? What is the quality of the item (fragile, durable, etc.)? How long is the cord? Any online reviews?
Thanks!

I have two of the factory remotes for my FZ20.
They're a simple switch and cable deal that should last for years and they're well worth the price (about $21 USD delivered) and the wait (about 3.5 weeks). If you're a unrepentant tinkerer, as many of us are, you might make you're own, but the factory unit is much better looking than any of the homemade ones I've seen so far.

How long is the cable?
About 37 inches.
Mine cost 14.98 plus sales tax the shipping for it and the UV filter where 8.95 from Panasonic. It measures 42 inchs from the plug to the end of the controler and 38 inches from the end of plug or the 90 deg fitting to the control handle. It has a clip on it and a clicks twice like the shutter button on the camera.
