Finally got my FZ20 on March 1st. I did a lot of research and this was definately the camera for me. I love it, as do most of the sites that review the FZ series of cameras. One of the few complaints reviewers have is the lack of a strap on the lens cap. Dang, this almost prevented ME from buying one! :D

Anyway, the day after I got the thing I decided there must be a way to put some sort of retainer on that cap. (I just can't stand to leave well-enough alone and I'm prone to "misplacing" things). So I dismantled my new lens cap and put a string on it. It's quite easy, once you get the cap apart. I went ahead and posted a web page with some details on how to do this, if anyone's interested...http://trialsnuts.com/lens_cap.htm

Sorry if this issue has already been addressed. I neglected to search the forum before I started posting.

Nice call on the leashes. I didn't think of going to a photography store to look for a lanyard of some sort. :o Who'da thunk it?

The bright yellow cord I got cost me $1.07. OK, I'm a serious tightwad, but I like the yellow because I can see it. And you may have noticed in the picture that my string is, like, 2 feet long. I'll eventually trim it to a respectable length, but I've found it's easier to cut length off a string (or board) than it is to add to it! :)

Besides, with that long cord I can swing it around like a nunchuck if I need to defend myself. And, since I'll have my new camera handy, I can take pictures of me pummelling my assailant into submission. What aperture setting should I use? :D

I secured a small elasticated cord with a blob
of two part epoxy mix, not very elegant but it
does the job. Just about six inches long and
attached to the neck strap.
