I like the re-assuring sound of the shutter, in the burst mode feel like a paparazzi, but I reckon there
must be ocassions when it is best left muted.

On the FZ 20 go into the "setup" menu. You can adjust the level of the shutter sound (or turn it off) there.

You'll find that even with the artificail shutter sound off, the camera makes an audible shutter sound all its own.
