I shoot standard on everything except saturation which is set to high. I do tend to sharpen images in the computer though and almost always use noise reduction (again in the computer) on my images. But experiment to see what you like. :)

FWIW- I found that I need to apply noise reduction prior to sharpening, otherwise I end up with a lot of sharp looking noise! (MS Digital Image Pro/Suite 9)
