I was about to buy the p150 a few months ago, as soon as i was about to drop the funds, I heard about the p200 with a 2.0 screen so i decided to wait.
Now that its out, Iam confused. They say its made of plastic or not sturdy as the p150 etc.
But my main concern is this, Why on earth would the p200 be cheaper than the p150???? this is concerning. Dell has the p200 like 50.00 cheaper.
..and iam affraid to order it.
can someone please shed light on this? I have the money and I only prefer sony. I love my dscv1 and i want a pocket cam.

i have the p150 and was thinking about getting the p200 when it was first introduced. then i saw it and was disgusted. it may have a .2" bigger screen, but the body looks like crap. they took a few steps back on the design. i like my brushed metal appearance. it is classy looking.
also, the metal camera I have is sorta heavy duty. i have had a few accidents and dropped it atleast 2 times. no problems to date. :D

Yup, looks like the only "improvement" is the size of the lcd but it's cheaper b/c it's more cheaply made !!! I'd get the P150 if I were you...here's a great deal on the hard-to-find black colore -

Bear in mind that the model no. of a camera is not necessarily indicative of it's price. If you go to Sony's website and compare the specifications of each camera you'll see why Sony has priced the P200 $50 less than the P150. You may not consider the differences important but apparently Sony feels that the P150 to be a better camera.

actually i saw no difference that justifies the p150 higher price difference.
if anything the p200 has a larger LCD screen, weigh less and is smaller in size according to the specs. so please if you can, shed light....this makes no sence. Iam calling sony.

.2" is not a big deal.
the cost difference between making a camera out of cheap plastic vs metal, and brushed too ;) is big.
one is built to last, the other one is questionable.
the reason it is lighter is bc the camera is all plastic.
i had the T1 and got rid of it bc its battery sucked, no manual controls, and it was super light.
the p150 is heavy enough to feel right, but not light enough to be a problem.
Actually the P200 is made of metal as well - even the battery door. Looks pretty much the same kind of metal as my friend's P100 (although I am not sure I really noticed the whole brushed thing either way). And surely it is lighter cos it is smaller?

I never like the look of the Sony P series. Frankly.
