I have a slideshow that I was sent on a CD. The CD has only one icon which is an application that shows 114MB of info for the pictures and music it contains.

Is there a way for me to locate and save the individual photos in the slideshow?

Depends. If the slideshow is a file that has a name that ends in .exe then you're not really going to be able to. I see you say it is an application so that does suggest it's been compiled into an "executable" which would make me think you're not going to be able to do it easily.

If it's a screensaver type show and if you have a copy of the program that it was created in you should be able to do what you want.

More details about the software it was created in - if you know it of course - would be useful.

One thing you might try is to play the slideshow and look for a control panel on the screen; see if there is a "help" item, or try right-clicking on the photo on the screen and see what happens. There ought to be some kind of controls you can use; try experimenting.

Look in your Temp folder. maybe it decompresses the pictures there while it's playing. You could also open it in a resource viewer and extract the pictures, if you're lucky.
