I just got a dx6490 and I am wondering which 256 MB memory card to get. I am thinking of the Lexar 32x and the SanDisk Ultra II.

If I am missing any high quality ones, or want to offer your input please responsd.

I would recommend the SanDisk 256MB SecureDigital card. I have one for my Kodak EasyShare DX7440 and it works great! It's a terrific card and a very good value for money. Though don't count on that, cause I haven't tried the Lexar 32x. You should try and check on the web for reviews.

Well Sox
There is not much response here on the memory cards. Is that because all are so reliable, now?
In some thread, someone made a statement that the Ultra cards are a waste in many, most? of the digital cameras. I am getting the Panasonic FZ 20 and want a 512 card and don't know what brand is best, I bought San Disk CF cards years ago, nor if speed of card really will make a difference in my camera. The Ultras are about $25.00 more than the regular so I would just as soon keep the money if there is no difference.
THe person who answered you, sorry I don't remember your name, said they had a San Disk but it wasn't clear if it was a regular or ultra.
Hope more will jump in with opionions. George or anyone?

Anyone familiar with them?
Can anyone recommend them--or not?

The problem is that no-one wants to reccomend an "off-brand". I have never heard of this one, but that does not mean anything. There is a new guy re-branding cards every day.

Sorry, you takes your chances on this one, but assuming that it is SD certified (uses the logo) it is probably ok. I think Newegg will honor whatever warranty is on the card as well, but you may want to ask first.

Well www.expansys.com / www.expansys.us offer a 14 day money back gurantee if the memory card doesn't work with your device! Hence I'll be ordering their 512MB SD card soon rather than paying double for a 'branded' name.
