I purchased a Nikon 5400 and am debating about whether it is worth purchasing a high speed memory card. Will it speed up the memory transfer over a regular Compact Flash card. Anyone have some experience that they can share reqarding the two media.

Any comments apprecieated. Thanks.

Generally speaking, high speed media is desireable if you are using the burst mode or taking long video clips. I own and use both types of CF chips with my Nikon 5400 and I have not noticed any real or measurable difference.

I have purchaes the Nikon Coolpix 5400. It looks like a great camera. I haven't had much time to play with it yet but am looking forward to learning about the camera. I am being asked to purchase filters (UV and polorized?). Do I need those and what kind would you recommend if I ned them.

Thanks for the help.

sgorl-

A UV filter is like an insurance policy against damage to the camera's lens. The logic is this: Better to damage the UV filter and protect the camera's lens.

Sams Club has a 1GB Compact Flash card for $70.00 works like a champ. I haven't seen any difference in high speed cards.
