Guys I recently purchased this adapter which enables me to mount my Minolta MD Rokkor 45mm f2.0 lens on to my Nikon D3000.
The adapter fits perfectly onto both, the lens and camera.

But since its a manual lens, there are no electrical contacts on it which keeps the camera from detecting the lens.

Can I by-pass lens detection somehow?

I know for a fact that it can be done, since I've read reviews on how it works on Nikon DSLRs. I just don't know how to by-pass lens detection on my camera.

Thanks.

I read the camera manual and learned that a non-CPU lens may only be used in M mode.

I'm pleased with the results.
