Angry and upset

So today I took my Nikkor 18-55 AF-S lens off my camera and a part of the inside came off and fell inside, and now the whole thing is jammed and basically busted!

Cant believe it.

Only a couple of weeks into the whole DSLR thing, and my one and only lens breaks.

Need to find a reasonably cheap replacement...any help?

I'm sorry you've had this unfortunate event happen. I've been lucky enough to have had lenses bounce off the floor and still work perfectly (unfortunately, the photographer is still lousy). Like K1W1 said, shouldn't it be under warranty?

Curious, however, as to why you took the lens off the camera if it is the only lens you had. Also, if this just happened and it's the only bad incident you've had, why are you already fed up? This hobby (as it is for a lot of us here) will try your patience...

Sorry to hear what happened. It reminds me of the first time I tried to change lens off my first DSLR.
Surely you will get it repaired one way or another... that's all part of learning process.

In the granduer scheme of life this is but a momentary blip, either take control of the situation or let it take control. Predictably the former affords the opportunity to enjoy the chi of NAS. never heard that before. warranty ? if not, a cheap replacement is just the same lens anyway.
