Specially for S500 owners...

Would you trade in your S500 (Ixus 500) for the SD500 (Ixus 700)?

Nope I wouldn't. Why? Because Superzooms like the Panasonic FZ20 are the better deal.

Well, it much depends on the consumer. All cameras have trade offs though.

For ultracompacts, you can't have lots of zoom.
And for superzooms, you can't have a compact body.

So it's either or ;)

Yes, agreed. I traded compactness for better camera optics and control. Sorry, I just got a Lumix FZ20 and I'm all fired up about this superzoom thing.
