I will make you sad, bu NONE of the camera that Canon makes, has this indicator.
IF you want that, go for any Sony and that WILL have that InfoLithium batery, but that`s another story ... .
Canon has a baterry indicator, but it apears on the LCD before you can make only 4-5 photos.

I mean battery indicator like cell phones have on there display. And this indicator is missing in SD300 which is there in S500 and S410. I just wanted to know have they added this indicator to the display in SD400. If not how will a user keep a track of the charge left on the battery. He will have to make sure every time he uses his camera that he had kep it for 90 minutes for charging before he uses his camera right....

i think you are confused, canon has never had a real battery life indicator, like the ones they have on cell phones or on sony's like mikey has already pointed out. that is actually one of the solid parts of the sony as it tells you how many minutes you actually have left on your batter.

That`s right dmbartender. Canon canon has never had a real life indicator like Sony, but it seems that Cupid_J didn`t understood.
I told him if he wants that, will fid it in Sony cams, because they have that InfoLithium batery that comunicates with the camera.

Actually, it IS possible for Canon to have battery indicators (Well, at least on the A series). I have a HP Photosmart 635 which runs on AA batteries and has a simple indicator (100%, 75%, 50%, 25% or running out) although not quite accurate, it is somewhat useful to me. Canon is probably trying to figure some way to make a battery indicator OR saving it for future models.

Yes, I know that the technology exists, but, I DON`T know why Canon don`t aply it. :(
I may not be verry acurate, but it is more helpfull anyway.
Considered that, I haven`t find it a major minus, in all that years I`ve used their cameras. After a time of using the camera you can apreciate the discharge rate.
