Inside at night

I've been asked to take some shots at a night church service.

There will colouered lights flashing and a band on the stage. Generally low light conditions
I'm using A700, Tamron 18-250, Ext Flash "Vivitar DF 400MZ-SA series
Any tips for good shots would be great please
