First off thanks to this sites very good reviews. You have all the info I look for included test shots in the same location for several cameras. It was thanks to your reviews that I even got down to the list I have.

I am in the market for a decent digital camera. I have had a Fuji 3800 for about 2 years or more now. It has slowly died and now takes nothing but blurry pics regardless of settings.

Because of this I do not want a Fuji at all. The other factor is from day 1 low light pics have been worthless on this camera and seeing from the reviews the same goes for the new Fuji cameras.

Here is my list of potentials to buy.

1. CANON PowerShot S410 @ $321
2. CANON PowerShot A85 @ $279
3. CANON PowerShot A95 @ $350

The things that are important to me: Obviously picture quality, low light situations, and over all quality.

Thanks for any information you can offer.

It sounds like you're a fan of Canon cameras. Being an Olympus owner almost exclusively, I can't comment on those particular cameras. I did use this site for most of my research on the camera I just bought. Aside from the regular reviews, I found the "User Comments" to be quite helpful. ;)
I consider myself still a "newbie", but I've noticed most digicams seem to be lacking in low-light capabilities.(reportedly) I'm wondering if this might be a downside to the technology.(?) Fortunately, most all of my photography is done outside so it's not as much of an issue for me.
It's my understanding, to mostly ignore digital zooms, optical zoom being the primary concern. Most people feel megapixels are not that important in the final decision unless you want to make big (over 4x6) prints. Much to my surprise, I'm learning many people aren't into making prints.

I am interested in prints only on a small scale. 5x7 tops. I am ignoring digital zoom right off the bat as I know from my current camera that it is worthless for me.

As of this very second I am going with the A85 as I do not care much for the extra mp for the A95 nor the movable lcd. However, I am ordering from Dell to use my credit there and the A85 is 1-2 week wait, where the A95 ships in 24 hours. Argh!! I am far too impatient for this. lol

As far as being a fan of Canon, to be honest its just more of NOT a fan of Fuji and not a fan of the look of the sonys. From there I went to reviews everywhere and came down to the fact that canon seldom gets a bad review at all.

You're right, Canons do seem to have a good reputation. The Powershot S60 made it into my "final 3". I chose the Olympus C-60 because of the super macro & the fact that my "starter" digicam was an Olympus & I figured the learning curve would be easy. (It was!)
I've only been on this forum a few weeks, but I've noticed alot of people like those A95s. :)

After reading some other posts and threads I have decided on the A95 with a memory upgrade. I just submitted my order so sometime next week I will be able to give my opinion on the camera.

You can consider the Panasonic FZ20. I was thinking of getting a Canon A95 but with the 12X zoom on the FZ20 I was swayed...
