Update..........For the hell of it I changed to a different lens and it works now.
However when I tried that this afternoon it didn't? Maybe there was some trash or something in there? It seems to be working now?

I use an Olympus E-500. I had pulled over on the side of the road this afternoon like I do all the time and started taking some shots. After a few shots I noticed something was missing from my display screen. It actually took me a while to realize it was my F stop display. :o It was no longer there?
The camera still takes great shots, etc but just no display. I cut it off and back on, removed the battery and reinstalled it. I tried to find something in the manual but didn't have much luck.

When I think back I realized that the camera had actually cut off a couple of times and I had to turn it back on. When I turned it back on, it was on last night's settings best I can remember? I'm hoping I hit a button or something without realizing it and that caused it? It won't be the first time I've done something totally stupid and won't be the last. Any ideas?

Builder,

I recall seeing something like that on either my E500 or E510. It was generally that the lens was not snapped completely in place or the contacts were a little off. Unmounting and remounting the lens fixed it the 2 or 3 times it happened.

yeah, that's happened to me a couple times. I always solved it by putting the lens on again.
