Had a session last night but it began to downpour literally as I was setting up my light. We stopped after a few minutes because she started to look like a drowned poodle but I still got one I like plus a couple outtakes/goofing around. Then I took her to McD's.

I really like them but there is something about the hands on the face that is distracting. I am not sure what, maybe they don't look relaxed or to posed?
The second is really beautiful.

That brolly is amazing, sure puts to shame the amateur setups.

I like the first shot, great smile and her eyes really engage. I assume any loss of sharpness on the eyes is resizing down for the web. I think her right hand pose is helping to make her chin/face more flattering. Gorgeous girl and shot.

Bahahahaha. It IS an amateur setup. :D It's just an inexpensive silver umbrella with four Vivitar 283s hitting it. :p

Thanks to all. I'm shooting her again next Friday since we didn't really get to do anything yesterday. She's a sweetheart and gorgeous little thing.

Why so many lights in that umbrella?

I do like the first shot but but as spinning says the hand look odd; a bit like claws - aggressive ?
I noticed a similar thing in one of the wedding photos on the site of the bride laying on a bed.

Thanks guys. :)

Why so many lights in that umbrella?
Power. Four lights gives me oomph to kinda sorta compete with the sun a little, and when I don't need it all I can turn 'em all down to 1/4th or even 1/8th for faster recycle times yet have the same ouput as if a single light was on full or 1/2 power, respectively. Plus, with 2 up and 2 down I fill the umbrella more evenly (although still not perfectly) than just one up top.

Did you splurge and "supersize" her at mcd's? Lol

Haha nope I'm cheap. She's lucky I didn't make her choose from the Dollar Menu.
