Canon Pro 1 or Nikon Coolpix 8800????

I have read review after review on many cameras and I have come down to two choices, either the Canon Pro 1 or the Nikon Coolpix 8800. I know the spects of each and they both fit my wants and needs. So, I need your help. Which do I choose? Thank you in advance for your help!

The Nikon is superior in several aspects except one major area which could be a real dealbreaker: performance. If it isn't clear already, the Nikon's performance is quite lacking. I recommend trying it out in the store if possible to see if its performance if acceptable. You don't want to be living with a camera that's slow even if it takes marvelous pictures. This isn't to say that the Pro1 is ultra fast by any means, but compared to the Nikon, it looks like a racecar even with the DIGIC processor.

Thanks for you in put. I am waiting until PMA to see if Canon will announce the Pro2, as many have hoped for. There are things on both the Nikon 8800 and the Canon Pro 1 I like and dislike. It would be great to take the best of both and put into one camera...but such is life and this will not happen.
