If you were at a dinner banquet where the light is not sufficient but dimmed, what are the settings that you would use on your camera?
I can't imitate the setting to practice so I would appreciate to get some advice from experienced users.
OBJECTIVE: Take nice shots of the people in the setting described above. Thanks in advance.

I would up the ISO to 400, and go for a long shutter speed.
If you just wanted to capture the people and nearby objects auto or P mode with flash on should be fine. To capture the background and original lighting try going for ISO 200 without flash. With reasonably steady hands 1/30s shutter should be sharp enough. I use neat image to clean up my low light images and it works great.
Taken at iso 200 and filtered with neat image.

How is the outcome - did the recommended settings work?
