I've been looking at the Canon EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 for a zoom telephoto lens. Could anyone offer any personal experience or other thoughts? Thanks!

If the EF 70-300 IS lens is nice then also take a look at the Sigma 80-400mm F4-5.6EX OS Lens . At a hair under $1000 it's pretty nice. Glad to see some other lens makers get into the stabilized lens fray.

But all-in-all the normal 75-300 should work just fine. ;)

The 70-200 f/4 L comes up a little short in telephoto, but its sharpness and quality is unrivaled (well, there's a Sigma exactly like it) at that price point of $500-$600.
