Hello - I own A95. Everytime I take a picture it takes about 3 seconds to take the shot. How do I take the shot quickly?
If I am taking a picture of somone cutting the cake or feeding it. I want to be able to take the shot at that very moment.
Your help is appreciated.

There is 2 ways to do that, the first one is to prefocus, by pressing the shutter halfway and NOT releasing it, then when ur shot is there, u press entirely and the picture is taken very fast. The other option is to use the manual focus, you set the manual focus to a certain distance and then u press the shutter completly in 1 time and u got ur picture taken.

Thanks for the great tip.
Now the question is how to put it on Manual.
Thanks again.

To put it on manual u must press the same button as for macro which is the little flower... you will see on that button there is a flower and MF(manual focus), if you press the button once you are in manual mode... if you press twice you are in manual mode.. if you press thrice, then you come back to normal.
A little trick for manual mode... If you half press the shutter and then press on the flower, you will automatically go in manual mode and will be focused for the object you were focusing on using the prefocus(half press).

OVERLY DETAILED instructions on how to setup SNAP mode:
1. Make sure you are in the "shooting mode" not the "play back" mode.
2. Turn the mode wheel to "P".
3. Turn on the power.
4. Press the "FUNC" key.
1. Now that you have entered the function menu, set everything to your liking.
2. (Note) if you have no clue what the little symbols mean, or what you want, you can follow mine, or READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!! If you have no clue, then read the instructions and then read on the internet all about each setting. THEN and ONLY then, should you ask me questions...
3. Press the "FUNC" key again to exit that menu.
5. Make sure you Zoom out all the way (widest perspective you can get)
6. Press the "MENU" button.
7. Go to the "Set up" menu (should be the 2nd icon)
8. Go down the "Distance Units" section (should be 8 clicks down)
9. Set it to "m/cm"
10. Press "MENU" again to exit.
11. Press the Macro / MF button (What the red arrow is pointing to in the picture) TWICE.
1. The first time will be the macro mode (noted by the flower)
2. The second time will the be MF (Manual Focus) mode.
12. Now keep pressing the right arrow until you are exactly at the 5m mark.
1. Now press the left arrow ONCE. You should be just shy of the 5m mark.
13. Now press the "SET" button. The manual focus should be locked now.
14. Now press the "MENU" button again.
15. You will be at the "Rec. Menu"
16. Press "UP" ONCE..
17. You will arrive at a "C Save Settings".
18. Press "Set"
19. You will be presented with a choice of C1 or C2 to save your settings. Pick whichever one you want by using the left and right arrows.

Once you set the camera settings as you described, how long do they stay that way? Until you switch to a different mode? Until you turn off the camera?

The best way is to depress the shutter half way, then all the way when you're ready for a shot.
