I have been looking at this cam for about 4 months now and most places are around 800-900 bucks!! When I do a search on pricewatch there are a few that come up on the right side that are really cheap!!
http://royalcamera.com/caneos30digr.html = 479
http://www.42photo.com/ was another one... this one 42nd street was 598 after a 100 rebate... couple of days later its at 769?? whats the deal?
I will keep my eye on the royalcamera place and see if the same thing happens.... thats a really great price for that cam and they say that its brand new!! any ideas on either place?

thanks, Tim

Red flag 1
It sounds too good to be honest. At that price the camera is either sizzlingly hot (ie stolen) or you'll pay and will never receive.

Red flag 2
This company (RoyalCamera) has a private domain name. This is NOT what you expect from a legitimate business. Why? Because it's hard to track them down and might require court orders to be served on Network Solutions in order to make them reveal the domain name. It's just a thought but this could well also be a violation of Network Solutions TOS.

Red Flag 4
Royal Camera is rated very poorly on resellerratings (http://www.resellerratings.com/seller2232.html)

Red Flag 5
42Photo has the worst resellerratings rating I've ever seen:
http://www.resellerratings.com/seller6510.html

Basically, go to either of those and you will probably regret it bitterly (according to the research I've just done for you) but it's your choice as to where to go.

Check out www.digital1234.com they have the Digital Rebel for $765.77. This company is honest and they have treated me well each time i have bought from them. I purchased my 20D from them. As for www.roaycamera.com, they sell gray market cameras and somteims will completely deny your order unless you purchase overpriced accessories (info from reviews I have read). I have personally called this company, because I too was lured in by their extremely low prices. As said before they sell gray market cameras, they do not have a USA warrenty and the camera is all you get, no manual, no battery no charger. If you see a price that seems to good to be true email or call the company. If you email them and they respond with a call us or something along those lines, they are most likely an awful company. Hope this helps
Ken

Yesterday, while shopping and finally buying my sony V3 for $467 at best buy (price matched circuit city plus 10% difference), I stopped at Sam's club and saw the rebel for $634  . I was tempted, but wanted the movie capabilites of the sony! If you dont have a sams, circuit city is selling it for around $750.

But how much does Sams membership cost and would they sell the DReb in WalMart too?

Circuit City is selling the Digital Rebel for $799.99 plus tax, however they may match the sams club price if you are a good bargainer!!

The art of bargaining:

Flash wad of cash.
Mention camera.
They show you camera.
Ask price.
Flip through wad of cash.
Mention price of other shop.
Fondle cash and look thoughtful.
Announce you're off to the other shop.
Walk out of the door and head for the other shop.
Before you reach the door, a good salesman will match or beat the price.

Sams club basic membership is $30 dollars, but find a pal that has a membership already!

As for walmart having it I would not know...but I sorta doubt it!

Which Sams Club did you see it at for that price. I called my Sam's today and they said it was over $800.00. Thank you
