I have finally narrowed down my choices to these two. But, unfortunately, i cannot decide on which one is going to be best for me! I'm looking for Manual Controls, and best Picture Quality. Any help is appreciated!!

Do you care for the long zoom and image stabilization that the S1 has or are you looking for a more general purpose camera instead? If you just want a good, compact camera, the A95 is a much better choice. Also remember that the S1 only has 3 MP as opposed to the A95's 5 MP.

But remember also that with 3 megapixels you can print a very nice A4 or 11.5 x 8 photo. Dont get too hung up on 5 megapixels. 2 extra megapixels don't add that much extra when you do the maths.

"If" you can wait 'til April, I'd get the new Panasonic Lumix FZ4 or FZ5...they will have 4 and 5 mpgs. Plus, better zoom than Canon IS. Check out the news on the frontpage of this site:

Never mind....just read your requirements!
