Been considering a digital for some time now; can't decide.

Now stuck on these 2 cameras.

plan to use the camera as a second camera (primary is film slr) to take pictures mostly of family, including young kids.

I would like camera to:
1. have high quality pictures,
2. as little red eye as possible (w/o post processing);
3. have good resolution;
4. short shutter lag and overall fast operation;
5. manual options are not as crucial as above factors (some manual features would be nice)

Which camera would better suit my needs? Thanks.

Despite negative reviews from mainstream magazines, the Sony P150 is quite a good camera, and it fits your description perfectly (fast, decent pictures, no red eye, simple usage). At $350-400 street price, it's a bargain and functions as a speedy point & shoot camera. Read Jeff's review (http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/sony/dsc_p150-review/index.shtml) and be sure to try it out in the store before you buy.

The FZ3/4 are nice but I don't think it's the right choice for you as it's a completely different kind of camera.
