Recently came across this site. Amazing images, this is the link to the landscape section. I suspect lots of PP here (some HDR too), but still incredible in my opinion....Something to work towards in the new year. ;)

It's beautiful, it's artistic. But realistic? No.
Too artificial for real photography.

Depends what you mean by realistic. In terms of the human eye then HDR actually makes a photo more realistic when done well and in moderation. The one posted above is pretty good, even if the trees look a bit fake.

When used in moderation. Yes. But most images in the link are anything but.
As for the above, the trees are too fake to me... and the shadows too ghostly to be realistic. Take nothing away from the artist above though. They are all very artistic.

I'm with you there Tim....my first impression was "animation"....like a scene from Happy Feet or similar.

It is an amazing shot, even with all the pp. I know purists who don't do any editing, they feel that the image should be as shot, then there are those that use hdr for everything. It's all subjective. All the pp done here would make me feel uncomfortable, but if someone gave me a framed copy, I would have no problem hanging it in my house.
I too felt a loss of confidence the other day at the mall. There was one of those temporary set ups by a local photographer. He had simple shots of fall leaves, water's edge and so on. The comp. was great, the exposure; dead on. These were images that could sell.

Wow. The post processing skills and eye for composition a lof of those people have is amazing. Thanks for sharing.
