Garsh, I love that lens. I thought when I switched to full frame I would want to drop it for the 135L, but then I realized it would just fill in for what I used to do with my 50/1.8, and it has been awesome.

If you shoot portraits, or want telephoto in low light for any other reason (with about the fastest autofocus made) you will love it.

Jason that is great to hear! I want it for low light and speed. My daughter is a springboard diver and I really would like to get some nice indoor pictures! Can't wait to play!

I ordered: VELOCITY-7X PHOTO SLING PACK (BLUE)
I am hoping it isn't huge. I hate a big bag. I liked that it was a sling and had the extra strap for the waist. It is weather resistant so that should be good for the pools in summer.

Good choice on the lens, I've been happy with my 85mm. Something else you may want to consider is getting a lens hood for it. The lens hood will help reduce the chance of flare and also help protect the front element on the lens from any impact damage. It may even help a little if some pool water happens to get splashed towards you. If you do consider a UV or similiar filter for splash protection, get a good one which is multi-coated.

The real deal Canon hood......

or a cheap knockoff from ebay......

Yeah, you certainly want to spend the money to get a proper hood for a lens like that. It is ok at handling flare, but no lens is perfect at handling flare (even with a hood). It also is a great method of protecting the front element.

I almost ordered the hood I use one off an on with my old fuji with the summer. But didn't since I wasn't thinking summer with this lens, only winter, yeah I know silly....but I guess my mind is only on winter diving right now and not what will soon be here. Luckily that is fairly cheap and I should be able to pick one up at the camera store!
