Hello all,

This is my first post to the forum, so please let me know if I am not providing the proper information.

I have a Canon Rebel XTI, that I am getting a CF Problem error that reads "There is a problem with the CF card. Replace the CF card. First of all I tried formatting the card with no luck. My next step was to purchase a new card, which I did, and I get the same message with the new card.

Does anyone have any ideas??

Thanks,

Jim

FYI to anyone else who encounters this problem. I took the camera to a local photography store, and it was determined that it was not a card problem at all, rather at some point the card was installed wrong. As a result it bent a few prongs. I was told that there was a 50/50 chance it could be repaired without having to send it off to Canon, which would be $40 vs. $200. Luckily the $40 option worked for me!

So..............lesson learned, make sure you put the CF card in correctly every time!

I hope this helps other people that may have had this problem in the past, or encounter a similar situation in the future!

Yes, this seems to be a fairly common problem. Thanks for the follow up though, should be helpful for others. This of course can also happen in a card reader, and is one benefit to SD cards now used in most (all?) consumer DSLRs.
