l have a canon rebel xs 1000D EOS.
I have borrowed a strobe light and soft box and am trying to figure out how to connect it to the camera. Is there anyway to do so? Can I buy a connector piece? There is no terminal for it on the camera.
There is a video out, remote control, and digital terminals.
Thank you for any help or advice on using the lights.
:)

What connectors do the strobe have?
You can get radio triggers/receivers like the RF-602 and mount the trigger on the hotshoe of the XS and receiver on the strobe.

You may be able to trigger the strobe optically with your popup flash.
Optically with your popup flash, or get a radio trigger from ebay, or get a 15$ hotshoe to pc adapter from your local camera store and a 10$ pc cord to match what you are connecting to.
Some strobes use a PC connection, others a monojack. Theres different sizes in the monojacks so get one that'll match, its a pretty cheap endeavour though you'll soon look for radio triggers because while not as cheap or effective as cables, they give you wireless range!

I'm guessing the monolight/strobe that was borrowed has the cable with it to connect to this adapter - 1/4" to PC (?)
