Anybody with experience with both lenses on a 5D (and possibly the Sigma 10-20 on a 30D)?

Previously, I was using the Sigma 10-20 on my 30D and was quite happy with it.

Recently, I picked up a 17-40 for my 5D and that is slightly less wide (1mm) than my previous combination of the Sigma 10-20/Canon 30D.

I haven't had a chance to do any real shooting with it, but the 17-40/5D combo seems like it will be an adequate replacement. Don't know (yet) if this combination is better or worse than what I was previously using.

However, as the 5D is a full frame, this also opens up the possibility of putting the Sigma 12-24 on it and getting even wider than before.

From an image quality perspective, is the Sigma 12-24/5D as good or better than the Sigma 10-20/30D? If the Sigma 12-24/5D combination is as good in the equivalent focal lengths, it would be a worthy contender.

If you have any experience with these, your input would be valued.

The issue for me is that its a bitch to use filters on the 12-24; that killed it for me. I need the ability to easily use filters on my UWA lens so I'm sticking witth the 17-40.

I've got a Siggy 15mm fish when I want to go reallllly wide, but I haven't used it much.

I got one locally for a killer deal in the Spring. Its a real specialty lens. I just never know when to use it. I'm gonna bring it on vacation with me this winter and see if I can get anything interesting with it; if not, I'll sell it.

I've been trying to get some inspiration from this thread....

Adam, I love how you're usually all grown up and mature and stuff, and then you bust out with something like this, or a quote from Ralph Wiggums.
