Not for the $200 rebate on the xsi kit/55-250 lens. I just ordered them from amazon yesterday and got both for $635.

I see that, now... I only looked at the FIRST rebate offer. I wonder if I would qualify...I just bought the Rebel XSi 18-55mm kit last week... I'd love to pick up that extra EF lens, & get the 200 rebate..??...do they need to be purchased at the same time; or just both within the rebate period..??... I need to read the fine print.

I just went to Amazon... added both kit & lens to my cart... nowhere does it give any option or mention of "Instant rebate"...???

It doesnt mention it anywhere. You have to put both the camera kit and lens in your cart from amazon. Not one of the other sellers. That is what i did first. It defaults to another seller because amazon is out of stock on the lens.

Here is what i posted in another thread:

There were a couple issues i had so i will share incase anyone else runs into this. When i first went to Amazon i wasnt getting my $200 discount at checkout with both items in my basket. I then realized that the lense in my basket was being shipped from another vendor. The lense was out of stock at Amazon. I then went back and put the lense from Amazon in my cart and the $200 discount was applied. My next issue was that they were saying that the items wouldnt be shipped until 12/22-1/7. I need the camera for xmas but dont need the lense now. So what I did was have the camera shipped to my home and the lense will be shipped to my work. This forced the shipment to be split up and now the camera should ship 11/18.

On another note you can get the discount from Buy Dig but they only give the discount in a bundle and it comes out to $799 or something like that. So Amazon is your best deal.

Quick update. I got an email from Amazon this morning.

I just did this and i got the $200 discount. It shows the xsi kit in stock. Also the lens is $15 dollars cheaper that what I paid yesterday. I paid $236 and its $221 today.

very weird.... I post the URLs you gave....select Amazon as the merchant...it says 4-7 weeks for the lens...at the 221 price... but it does NOT apply the rebate in the cart. I even used my other pc...had the same results. I'm getting ready to call Amazon for the 3rd time...I tried placing this same order with 7 other merchants...nobody recognizes the rebate..??

OK.... the rebate isn't applied until the FINAL phase of AMAZON checkout...I had previously assumed it would show up in the cart...NOT..!!... I finally got an Amazon rep who spoke good English, AND knew what he was talking about...a rare combination, these days..!!...my final tab was $619...so, I got the 55-250 IS lens for only 70 more than what I just bought the XSi kit for..!!...since my first order hasn't even arrived...all I have to do is refuse delivery.

Glad you got it. I called them about the price difference on the lens. They adjusted the price from 236 to 221 for the lens. I just got an email confirmation that my camera shipped. I cant wait to get it in my hands. I already ordered my 8gb SD card yesterday from Newegg.

What i did so i can have the camera sooner was i spilt the items. I had the camera shipped to my home and the lens shipped to my work. I can wait for the lens but didnt want to wait for the camera. After i get the camera i may go back in and change the ship address of the lens.

I chose "split the order" also...at same address...I sure hope the camera comes sooner than next year...I just ordered the 60mm canon macro, also [thru Adorama]. I ordered the 4gb sandisk extreme III card...I wanted the extra speed, in case I need to use rapid-fire.
