I am trying to decide whether or not I wish to purchase the PowerShot SX200.
One of the concerns is that though it records adequate HD video for a digital camera, what is the maximum footage length you can store without it being overly costly and how much battery power is needed to record it?
Plus once it is recorded on the card, if you want to permanently archive it in its original format, can you securely save it on the card until HD video recorders become available at a reasonable price? Also what's the best way of making the next best copy of the footage in a Standard Definition DVD transfer?
Any other options for preserving the footage?
Then too, is the option of HD video recording with a digital camera like the PowerShot 200 a good introduction into the HD video format to warrant purchasing it over the the budget conscious, less feature-packed, though versatile PowersShot SX120?
And therefore, if the latter is recommended, would it be better to wait and buy a dedicated HD camcorder?
