Did several tests of Canon 580EX II flash.
Compiled the results here: Speedlite 580EX II test (http://photo-tips-online.com/test/canon-speedlite-580ex-ii-flash/)

The most interesting fact to me is that using a bounce card on a narrow side of the head gives about 1/2 stop advantage over a wide side.
