What comes with a 1D Mark II N?

I'm contemplating purchasing a used, kind of beat up 1D Mark II N. It will only come with the battery charger, the battery, and a strap. Can anybody tell me what was originally supplied that I would be missing?

Anybody else made a similar transition (30D to 1D Mark II N)? Is it worth it?

Random cables like USB and such I think. Software disks, etc. Nothing you'd really miss. Having the charger is the biggie since a new one will run you $340 from B&H.

I see some for 40Ds for about 700$Ca, i see some 1d Mark 2 for about 2k$Ca.

I'd go with the 40D myself.

Well, I am seeing around 800 - 1100 for a 1D Mk II and 1100 - 1600 for a 1D Mk II N.

However, I am doing a sideways glance over at the 7D and am wondering if it is going to cause a massive slide in the price of the 1D Mk II and II N bodies in the next six months. For me, there is only one advantage held by the Mk II and II N - autofocus capability at f/8. Spec-wise, the 7D seems to meet or beat it in every other way.

I just bought a good condition 1D II with 49K clicks for $900 shipped. No box or anything just 2 batteries, the body, and the charger. I decided to get another body I can abuse and stick with 1.3x on my primaries. Besides, I know that camera.

With the N version compared to the Non-n version.

900 shipped 2 batts sounds like a awesome deal even after the us conversion, used prices in my area are really high for some stupid reason.

The differences aren't major. The IIN basically gives you a bigger LCD, Picture Styles, and the ability to write RAW to one card and JPEG to the other.

Kind of like going from a 20D to a 30D. I shoot RAW only so the Picture Styles and RAW+JPEG card selection are moot. I could use a bigger LCD but it's not mission-critical.

Amazing what 1DII's are going for nowadays.

Even the 1DsII's are an amazing deal right now - they were $8000 at launch and are now going for $2000-$2400.

Digital sensors don't keep their value very well.

I saw a 20k$ (at release) digital back go for 6k$, it was something like 6 or 8 megapixels, but of course when it was release, wooo.

It's sad really. But hey it nets me a great deal on a camera I can still use to kick some ass. These bodies are no less capable now than they were when they were the hottest thing running.

My clients don't ask me how many megapixels my cameras have, they ask to see images.

My initial thought was wow thats expensive for body as old as that until I thought about the entry price like what some mentioned. Still seems a little expensive for what one could pick up a used 40D or 50D for.

I looked into some 1DMk IIN on ebay and most of them seem really well used for the price. Granted I didn't do an exhaustive research. I ended up going with a used 40D. I managed to snag an amazing deal. 40D plus BG-E2N for 730 in perfect shape. Less than 9k shutter actuations. I've seen 40D bodies go for 640-680ish and grips go well a little over 100.

Amazed at the 6.5 fps and shutter speed and how quiet it is. The smaller viewfinder will take some getting used to compared to the 5D. But at least now I have two bodies to play around with and no more switching lenses all the time.

The only thing that would be nice to have with the 1D II is the AF system. The speed improvement and weather sealing isn't as important to me.

Seems pretty subjective, but I guess that the case with anything you buy. Its all in whether you need the extras.

For me it's the AF but also the build. It's kind of cliche to talk about build but it's nice that it just sorta gets out of the way and you don't have to think about it or baby it.

I also have more confidence in the 1D than the XXD.

Being able to write to 2 cards is also a huge plus for me. I can put 16 gig cards in each slot and be solid all day long, or put an 8 gig in each slot and only change out once. I've only talked myself into trusting 4gig at most in the single slot cameras so far.
