Man Rooz, you just broke down on the last sentence. :p

Very nice set Adam. I like the detail shots of weathered structures.

8 & 15 are my favs

Thanks, guys.

Lukas, you can still see the graffiti on the water tower from the the 1969-71 Native American occupation of the island.

Rooz, I see what you mean. Actually, they were exposed pretty well, I just overdid the processing. If I get less lazy, I can redo them.

There is talk of turning the island into condos or another development. See it while you can.

I won't happen because a) it's federal land and more importantly, b) there's no fresh water source on the island--it has to be brought in by boat. This is the same reason the prison was closed down: it was too expensive to run.

The real threat is that the gov't won't put up the cash to stop the rapid deterioration of the buildings.

Great stuff man, great colours and the overcast weather is perfect.

That would be a shame if they close it. I haven't been in a long time.

Thanks, Aldor.

Lukas, I don't expect it to close down--it's very popular. But you should go if you haven't been in a while. Some of the buildings have been restored, and they have a very well done audio tour that's included in the price of the ferry ride. I was impressed. Gotta book reservations in advance 'cause popular days & dates fill up fast. They also have a night tour that's supposed to be pretty cool.
