It may be too common but for some of us it IS autumn and I couldn't find any special thread for it.

Autumn colors are too special to divide them between landscapes, abstracts, flowers and so on ...

As I opened it, here are some photos, just to have it started !

All three photos excellent, with a special note for the third, while I consider the first one as best conveying the autumn feeling - IMO of course.

I have another couple - the first one is actually (as the title says) on the verge for this topic, but I think it fits here better than in the Landscape section...

I'm driving down this road, and look in my rear view mirror as I hit the brakes.

Just shows that it's as much the photographer and the scene
that makes the pic - Ok I know your 50D could have made more - but
this is a great shot. !
I didn't look at this and think 'Ooh shame about the camera he's used' - I thought
wow - what a great shot!
Nice one - keep those eyes peeled!!!

Thanks Geoff. On this trip it wasn't practical to take a camera bag along, so I used what I had with me. I use DCRP to learn more about photography and I enjoy seeing other posters work. I like it when posters mention equipment or lens they used for a particular shot.
Keep up the good work yourself. Your post are always a treat!

Spook - thank you for the nice comments. The leaves are now falling pretty fast, but believe it or not - we are still getting some enjoyment from fall colors!

This is a lovely yellow colour I spotted on a Tree at RHS Wisley
Surrey/England
Literally a snapshot in passing - but I loved the colour!

Finally, for now, here's something a little different I found whilst wandering around
at RHS Wisley - it was in the undergrowth somewhat.
I decided to photo from above - despite the unusual stems etc - because the thing that I really liked was the colours.
Minimum fuss here - just resized and posted.
(PS if anyone can tell me what it was I would be gratefull!!)

Headed to the North Carolina mountains looking for some color. It was hit or miss with most of the areas already having dropped their leaves. I did find a few good spots on this forest service road.

Always like oak leaves against the sky so the first one is my favorite. Not sure what you are doing to resize for posting. Just stick to a max of ~800 pixels wide and things should fit nicely.

Here is one in my hunt for photo ops this past weekend. I did find a few good locations.

Thanks, Lukas. I always love roads along small rivers in Autumn. There are so many possibilities for great leaf and water shots, particularly since the open space sometimes gives the sun a chance to highlight a single tree.

Here are 3 of mine from this past weekend - a trip out to the far western portion of Tokyo.

This first one is a very colorful Ginkgo Tree with a Red Maple Tree in the foreground. You can find photos of this tree every November on my website.

Thank you kgosden. If you go to my domain and click on the "Complete List of All Photos" link and then search for "ginkgo" on that page you can see this same tree in past years. We generally find it at its best in November. I'll be posting the best photos of November 2010 within the week and there will be several shots of this tree included. Fall colors are incredible here this year - best I have ever seen and I've been here for 9 autumns now.
